Design and Menu Control


Made of black plastic, looks like made of sturdy full metal. At the top there is a speaker, mic, F.LCD button to turn on the LCD front, the power button and zoom combined with the shutter button. Image Quality and Noise

Design and Menu Control

Performance

Features


Samsung NX200 features a panorama, this mode also exists on the Sony NEX. But Samsungs way of making panorama with Sonny is somewhat different. Some other features are a Smart Filter and the Magic Frame. Filters (effects) are available in pretty much NX200, the vignetting effect, miniature, fish eye, sketch, defog, halftone dots, soft focus, an old movie, old movies 2 and negative. In the fish eye effect, the picture is similar to when we take pictures using a fish eye lens. With similar results is, of course, we could save money to buy a fish eye lens that cost a bit expensive.

Image Quality and Noise


We tested the use of ISO Samsung NX200 on a red apple. In the test, ISO 100 produces crystal clear images without noise. At ISO 200, the results of our apples that look much sharper picture, but when viewed in detail, noise already there even a little. Here are the results of ISO 100.



ISO 400 the camera produced this visible increase in noise from ISO 200, yet more subtle, while the sharp effects such as the one at ISO 200 is more diminished. We also did a test a test image on the RAW format. RAW images with speed, aperture and auto WB produces contrast and sharpness are slightly different from the JPEG. This difference we saw when RAW images are converted to JPEG using the default Samsung apps. The following photos are the result of the RAW converted to JPEG using the software built by Samsung.

In the JPEG image, apple images look a bit darker but sharper. As for RAW images, resulting in brighter images but with a sharpness that is more subtle.

Movie


In the Movie mode, Samsung NX200 is capable of recording full HD quality video (1920 x 1080) with 30 fps. While other recording option is the quality of 720p at 30 fps and 60 fps. When we tried recording with full HD resolution at 30 fps, the result looks pretty good. Lighting does not change and the auto focus works well. While sharpness is still unsatisfactory. For full HD-quality video recording, the file is stored with a duration of 5 seconds with a size 8.58 MB in MP4 format.


Recording our second try with HD resolution (1280 x 70) at 60 fps. The result, a more smooth motion video. Try to note the difference between video on the video below. Video recording at speeds below 60 fps looks more comfortable and minimal ghost effects as seen in the video above. Unfortunately the recording speed of 60 fps is not there at full HD resolution, and only at HD resolutions only. Duration video below takes 5 seconds for 8.44 MB memory in MP4 format.




Conclusion


Mirrorless NX200 series is Samsungs latest camera and the first use APS-C sensor of 20.3 MP. This sensor camera to beat its competitors, Sony Alpha NEX-5N (16.1 MP) and the Olympus PEN E-P3 (12.3 MP). Furthermore this sensor size is also above average for most DSLR on the market. The ability to record full HD video to appeal to the Compact System Camera (CSC) is. Video recording can also use the manual controls. While recording with autofocus also works but has problems when recording in low-light situation.

To ISO quality, NX200 very good at low ISO. While noise at ISO 1600 and 3200 starts to look a lot of noise, especially at ISO 12800.
