DESIGNING A LABEL IN MS WORD
MICROSOFT WORD DRAWING PROJECT No. 45
TITLE: DESIGNING A LABEL IN MS WORD
TYPE: GRAPHIC DESIGN
Packaging design is a part of graphic design. Since jam is usually bottled, a label is usually pasted on the bottle. Before you start doing the label, youll have to create an image for the illustration. The image of the durian was used for this project. Next, I used the image of the flying goose for the companys logo. Still remember the flying goose in Project No. 22? In a label design, the logo and brand name (trademark) are usually positioned at the top part. But sometimes, they can also be placed at the centre or at the bottom. Finally, use WordArt to create the lettering or typeface of your choice. For smaller letters, use the Textbox. This drawing project can also be done in the older versions. Here is an example of a label created in MS Word.

In addition, dont forget to draw the jam bottle so that you can paste the label onto it. This will give you an idea how the label really looks like on the product. The bottle was created with Rounded Rectangle, Trapezoid, Freeform and Arc. Here is an example of the jam bottle (with jam in it) which is viewed at eye-level.

THE VISUAL / PRESENTATION DRAWING
Presentation drawing or visual is also an important part of the graphic design process. It gives the client an impression of how the design would look like on the product in reality.
