  • It shouldnt redirect users to unwanted websites.
  • It shouldnt contain any copyrighted material.
  • It shouldnt contain any types of hacking, cracking or gambling related contents.
  • It shouldnt contain any pop out ads that bore users. Know More . . .
  • Dont place any third party Ads (Although AdSense allow this)
  • Your site should have sufficient visitors. But make sure that it doesnt get traffic only from a certain source. And never participate any paid-to-click program to increase your site traffic.
  • And finally try to publish the unique contents that drives more traffic.

After Getting AdSense - Be Careful!
  • The very first thing you need to do after getting AdSense is to be careful. Because your AdSense account maybe disabled at any time!
  • Never click your own Ads. And not a single click to test.
  • Never encourage others to click the Ads by any means.
  • Never try to make artificial clicks.
  • Place the Ads in a way so that it doest disturb the visitors.
  • The Ads should be distinguishable from your sites contents.
  • And finally follow all the rules that you did before getting AdSense.

Guidelines for Using PC Properly

Dark spot at the right hand by using mouse

Look at the image above. Most of the regular users of desktop have this hand mark. Specially at the right hand and it is caused by your mouse. Even I have a mark too. Do you have this?

Couple of years ago people were not too much interested to use computer. In that time the use of computer was actually confined to the software developers, web developers, gamers etc. But when the social sites specially Facebook gained popularity across the world the trend gets changed. Now the general people spend much more time on PC than developers!!

Today Im gonna talk about some ways (Tips n Tricks) to use your PC properly. The discussion will be divided into two parts. The first part is about your health. And the second part is about your PC health. Okay lets start.

Remember: If youre a blogger or something like web developer or programmer then this tips is not for you. This applies to normal people.

How to sit properly in front of a computer

Part 1: For your Health
  • Never use your PC for more than 3/4 hours a day.
  • Make sure youve sufficient lighting and air facility in the place where you use PC.
  • Keep the place free of dust.
  • The chair and table youre using should be comfortable enough. Use only computer table. (Look at the image for proper positioning)
  • Never look at the screen continuously for a long time. Take break at least after every 5 minutes to avoid eye strain. Look at the wall or window of the room.
  • Sitting in front of PC for a long time is not a good idea. You can go for a little walk after every 30/40 minutes. Then you can back.
  • Never use PC in a dark room. Keep the light on while using PC. If you use PC in a dark room it will create a huge pressure on your eyes. The result will be the loss of vision!
  • Keep the brightness of your monitor to a minimum level. High brightness may create eye strain.
  • Try to limit the use of social sites. Because surveys show these are not good for mental health.

Part 2: For PC Health

  • Turn your PC on and turn it off properly.
  • Never use too many programs at a time that your PC cant afford.
  • Use a reliable antivirus or security software that can protect your operating system from virus.
  • Close the unnecessary programs after using.
  • Never install too much programs on your PC. If you have unnecessary programs installed on your PC, just remove them.
  • Perform maintenance activities on a regular basis (Defragment, Disk Check, Clean Up etc.)
  • Open your casing at least two times a year. Clean it up properly and carefully. Check the internal and external connections. Unplug and plug them again if necessary.
  • Keep the place free. A small place is not good for a PC. Make sure the place is cool enough. Heat is always bad for a PC.
  • Never keep your PC turned on for a long time if the room is not air conditioned. Otherwise it will be over heated and thus it will affect the lifetime.
  • The cable used in the PC should be high quality. The main switch should also be perfect. Otherwise it may create short circuit.

I will try to update this post later. Keep in touch . . .

Ad Placement Guidelines for your Site

Guidelines for Placing Ads on Websites/ Blogs

Naturally people get bored when they see too much ads on TV Channels, Newspapers, Magazines even on blogs and websites. But a clever publishers task is to make the ads interesting and useful for the visitors. Today I would like to share some rules for ad placement with you. Read the full article carefully and express your opinion if any.

Ad Placement Guidelines:

  • Place ads in a place where the visitors can easily see them.
  • You can place ads at the top, at the right side bar and within your posts too.
  • If youre using infolinks then read more . . .

Ad Categories:

Make sure the ad categories are related to your site. For example if your site is related to Computer, Internet, Hardware or something like that, then ad categories should be like - Antivirus, Software, Technology etc. Irrelevant ads will not be able to impress the visitors. Even they may feel uneasy if any adult ads appear while visiting your site.

Never do the Following / Ads Behavior:

This is an important issue while placing ads on your site. Consider these carefully:
  • Never place the ads which appear in a pop out/ fly out window. It does nothing but irritates the visitors. I usually never back to the sites that use pop out ads.
  • Never use full page ads. Maybe it pays you better, but when you lose visitors it will give you nothing!
  • Never use adfly ads or something like adfly on your site. People just hate it! :)
  • Never place any ad that automatically redirects users in a new page or that automatically open a new window.
  • Never place any ad that makes your site down. Be careful while placing heavy ads like flash.
  • Never place any boring and irrelevant and adult ads on your site.
  • Never place any ad that increases your sites loading time.

Always Remember:

Visitors should be your primary concern. You should always try to retain your existing visitors. Never do anything that bores your visitors. Your site must be fast, safe, reliable and good looking. But it doesnt mean that you use too much colors and ads on your site.

While placing ads within your posts, make sure it doesnt create any problem to read the text. Because a person actually visits your site to collect information. If he faces any problem to read the text then why will he back to your site in the future?

Finally I would like to advise you, never try to deceive people. Never try to force them to click on ads. Let them understand what is the ads and what is your contents. If the visitors think the ads as your contents and hit on these then they might be angry with you.

Those who are using AdSense Ads or trying to get AdSense approved for your site, please read the following article:

Post Writing Guidelines for Bloggers

Top Tips in Writing Blog Posts!

Well this is not an easy topic to write about. You could never imagine how much responsibility is to be taken when you are discussing about any guideline. Because whatever you write as guidelines/ policies these might be applied by other people. If they get benefited then its your credit. But if they face any problem by following your principles you should be held responsible for that.

Anyway, I will try my best to provide you some guidelines which I believe must be considered before publishing a post. These tips will be very useful for you
  • To increase search ranking
  • To increase visitors
  • To retain existing visitors
  • Most importantly to improve your writing quality

Read the whole post carefully and participate through your valuable comment . . . :)

  • Post Title: The first and most important part to the search engines to display your site at the first page. Attractive post title is also helpful to encourage visitors to enter your site. The title shouldnt be unnecessary long. And you must try to keep it as meaningful as possible.

  • Post URL: You can create custom URL/ link for a post. Both blogger and WordPress let your customize the post URL. It is not only important to the search engines but also to the visitors of your site. Read more about customizing post URL.

  • Contents: The most important things to keep your visitors in touch! Your contents should be attractive and useful. Information provided must be accurate. Contents should be written in a clear and easy language. Try to make your contents unique and exclusive. But if youre not able to create unique contents never try to copy and paste from others. This is strictly prohibited by Google. When you write the contents from other website first you have to take permission and then you should refer to that site.

  • Labels/ Tags/ Keywords: Labeling is also very important. Proper labeling helps the visitors to find the right post within your site. And definitely the labels have a great impact in search results. So you should carefully use labels/ keywords in the posts. But never try to use the irrelevant labels or tags in your posts. If you do so, you could be blacklisted both by the visitors and search engines! Be Careful!

  • Formatting: Very very important. Make the texts bold, italicize or underline them when and where necessary. Also use different fonts to highlight some parts. Use numbers and bullets when giving a list of something. Use quoted text where applicable. You should keep sufficient space between paragraphs. Never type the whole post in a single para. It makes the reader bore and uneasy.

  • Search Description: This is a lovely feature of blogger. Usually the first few sentences of a post are shown by search engines in search results. WordPress automatically do this for the users. But if youre the user of blogger blog, then you have to do this manually. This could be boring for you. But this feature lets you customize the search description. Because the first few sentences may not be relevant to your post or may not able to attract visitors. Read more about search description.

  • Post Length: What is the optimum length for a post? Actually there is no rigid rule. Post should be descriptive enough so that it clarifies your message to the readers. But it doesnt mean that you will make your post unnecessary long. It should be precise, accurate and clear. Most of the bloggers try to write more than 500 words. You can also practice this rule. Because the more you write, the higher is the chance to be matched with the search queries of the visitors.

  • Language: Your language should be friendly and attractive so that the visitors feel free to read the contents. It should be easy and meaningful. Never try to be over smart in using the language style.

  • Grammar: Well 100% accurate grammar is not important for you unless youre writing something about language or grammar. But it doesnt mean that you will not care about grammatical accuracy. You should be careful enough to avoid mistakes. If the visitors find too much grammatical errors they may feel bore and lose interest to your site!

  • Color, Text Alignment, Text Size, Font: These issues are crucial to look your posts attractive and readable. Use of color is okay but only when its necessary. Black is the best. But when necessary, you can use any color. Text alignment should be justified but when required you can use left, center or right too. Font size shouldnt be too large or too small. It should be readable. Use large text when necessary. You can use any font. But always avoid stylish fonts (ie. Monotype Corshiva, Vivaldi, Vladimir) in normal text. I mean use a font that is easy to read and understand. My personal choice Georgia.

  • Image: A single image might be worth of thousand words. So you should use relevant image with your post (never copy from others). In case of using image you should consider some factors. Image placement should be proper. Make sure it doesnt looks odd and hinders the visitors to read properly. Image should be attractive and creative. Use the post link with the image. Give it a proper title text and alt text. Avoid extra large size images. Because they consumes data and increase your sites loading time.

  • Image Quality: While using an image you should consider the size. But it doesnt mean that you will use low quality images on your posts. I mean your images must be visually attractive. A poor image may be hamper your sites reputation. But keep image size minimum if possible.

  • Outbound Links: You can also use reference links with your post which may be helpful for the visitors to know more. And this is also important to Google. But never share too much links with the post.

If you follow these rules I think you will be a good writer for sure. And your site will get more visitors and higher ranking soon. Along with these rules you must ensure that your site loads faster. Visitors never like a slow site. Sites design should be attractive. Never place too much social sharing buttons on your site. Be careful while placing Ads on your site.

You should also follow my style. I think my posts are properly designed. If you think something is wrong then please inform me. Waiting for your feedback . . . :)
