HTML Tutorial 5 Basic Elements on An HTML Form Part 1
Few months ago, I started writing about HTML. There are already 4 tutorials published on HTML. I know this is not sufficient for an HTML learner. Because learning HTML requires much resources and practice. However I will try to write about HTML whenever Im able to manage time.
You can also read the previously published HTML Tutorial:
- Tutorial 1
- Tutorial 2
- Tutorial 3
- Tutorial 4
Todays HTML tutorial is very easy, funny and useful. Today I will discuss about the basic elements of an HTML form. This is the part 1 that includes Text Fields, Password Field, Radio Buttons & Checkboxes.
How to Start:
You can practice using notepad. Press Start + R > Type Notepad > Enter. Now copy or type the code from here. And save them as form.htm or use any other name. But the name should end with either .htm or .html. Then open the file in a browser.
Lets begin -
Usually an HTML form contains input elements like text fields, checkboxes, radio buttons, submit buttons etc. To create an HTML form you must use the <form> tag. Look at the structure below:
<form>
input elements
</form>
Though you skip the <form> tag, modern browsers can identify your form. But this is a basic rule for creating html forms. So you should start with <form> and end with </form>.
Text Fields:
<input type="text"> indicates a one-line input field to enter text.
<form>First name: <input type=text><br>Last name: <input type=text></form>
The result will be as below:
Note: <br> tag is used to create line break. Otherwise both fields will appear in a single line. The default width of a text field is 20 character. You can increase it as below:
The result will be:
<form>Name: <input type=text size = 40><form>
The result will be:
Radio Buttons:
<input type="radio"> refers to a radio button. Radio button allows user to choose a single item. After selecting an item, you can change it. But once selected, you cant undone it.
<form>Which one do you like most?<input type=radio name=Mobile>Nokia<br><input type=radio name=Mobile>Samsung<br><input type=radio name=Mobile>Apple</form>
You will get:
Checkboxes:
<input type="checkbox"> defines a checkbox. Somewhat similar to radio buttons. But here an user can choose multiple items. And he can deselect the item any time!
<form>What is your Favorite Browser?<input type=checkbox>Google Chrome<br><input type=checkbox>Firefox<br><input type=checkbox>Internet Explorer<br><input type=checkbox>Opera<br><input type=checkbox>Other<br></form>
Your browser will show:
These are some important elements of an HTML form. There are few other elements remaining. I will try to write about those elements in the next post. And then Ill put these all together and show you how to prepare an HTML form. Till then, stay with us . . .

Romanian Deadlift is Hamstring Exercise 1 Glute Ham Raises Not Bad Either Leg Curl Less Efficient Than Thought
![]() |
Study leaves no doubt: For the biceps femoris, Romanian deadlifts rule. |
Now, if we assume for the moment that my arguments are convincing enough to include a single hamstring exercise on their every-day-international-chest-and-biceps-day, what should it be, then?

Figure 1: EMG activity of biceps femoris and semitendinosus durinc ecccentric (light) and concentric (dark) phase of the romanian deadlift, the prone leg curl, good mornings and glute-ham raises in 12 subjects w/ 9y+ training exp. (McAllister) |
The leg curl, on the other hand, was significantly less effective when it was done with the tighs lying on the pad (as it was done in the study at hand) - exercise selection and execution did thus both contribute to the surprisingly different study outcomes, which do yet have one thing in common: The insight that activities of similar kinematics, dont necessarily produce similar muscle activation. As McAllister et al. poin out, this revelation may...
"[...] also indicate that the kinematics are not as similar as they appear to be, especially when you consider possible variance of internal and external rotation. For instance, the ST [semitendinosus] and SM [semimembranosus] insert at the upper medial surface of the tibia, and the BF inserts at the head of the fibula. The greater amount of activity from ST may be related to the fact that ST contributes to the internal rotation of the knee, whereas BF contributes to the external rotation of the knee. Although the potential impact is unclear, the absence of control for hip rotation (internal or external) may have obviated the identification of specific patterns of muscle recruitment. Foot position was not standardized in this study because the investigators felt that the subjects experience would allow foot position to be habitual and consistent. This delimitation must be considered when interpreting our results." (McAllister. 2014)In contrast to the semitendinosus & semimembranosus, the EMG activity for the biceps femoris (BF) was similar for the concentric prone leg curl and concentric romanian deadlift. As McAllister et al. point out, "[t]hese results are consistent with a previous investigation that reported no significant difference in activity from the concentric actions of the BF between the leg curl and stiff-leg deadlift." The authors of the corresponidn study did also find that the biceps femoris was significantly more active during the eccentric portion of the leg curl in comparison with the stiff-leg deadlift - the exact opposite of the findings McAllister et al. present in the study at hand, which showed significantly greater activity from the BF during the eccentric RDL as compared with the eccentric prone leg curl.

CREATING A DURIAN PATTERN DESIGN IN MS WORD PART 1
MICROSOFT WORD DRAWING PROJECT No. 44
TITLE: CREATING A DURIAN PATTERN DESIGN IN MS WORD PART 1
TYPE: GRAPHIC DESIGN
A pattern is a design made from repeated shapes and lines which are arranged in a regular structure. Nature has always been a popular source for ideas. I often use natural objects as inspiration for most of my works. In this project, I have designed a pattern using the durian as the motif based on a grid that is suitable to decorate a fruit stall plastic shopping bag or a tablecloth. The pattern is repeated many times and arranged using the grid (squares) as a guide. The durian is a tropical fruit and it is very popular in South-East Asia. Even though it has a hard spiny shell and strong aroma, the fruit tastes great. Here are some pictures of the durian fruit.
The steps to create this pattern are as follows:
a) Draw a round shape with the Curve line tool.
b) Use the Freeform tool to draw some spines around the shape and then
send it to the back.
send it to the back.
c) Use the Curve line tool to complete the other details such as the cavities
and the pulp.
and the pulp.
d) Finally, render the drawing with colours with Shape Fill and Shape Outline.

This is just an example of a durian pattern design.

The tablecloth or shopping bag can be decorated with patterns of durian motif.

Android 4 1 2 update now seeding to Nexus S and Galaxy Nexus

Following the footsteps of the Google Nexus 7, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus and Nexus S got their own treatment of Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. The 15.1MB update is currently seeding to GSM/HSPA versions of both smartphones over the air.
The update is a minor improvement over its predecessor. It includes the usual performance and stability fixes. Landscape mode however, will remain reserved for the Google Nexus 7.

HOW TO DRAW A GIANT PANDA IN MS WORD PART 1
MICROSOFT WORD DRAWING PROJECT No. 41
TITLE: HOW TO DRAW A GIANT PANDA IN MS WORD PART 1
TYPE: FINE ART - DIGITAL DRAWING This is the pencil drawing of a giant panda. It is better to draw the picture manually before drawing it on the computer. By doing so, you can study the physical features of the subject in great detail and figure out the best ways to draw it on the digital canvas. Try drawing this picture on your own first in MS Word using the Curve line tool. The Curve line tool is a versatile tool which I often use to draw fluid and organic lines and shapes. Ill show readers how to draw this picture in MS Word in my next post. It is better to draw using a cordless mouse.

HOW TO DRAW A CUBE IN MS WORD PART 1
MICROSOFT WORD DRAWING PROJECT No. 39
TITLE: HOW TO DRAW A CUBE IN MS WORD PART 1
TYPE: MATHEMATICS DIAGRAM / ILLUSTRATION
I have a friend and colleague who is a Mathematics teacher who loves to draw Mathematics diagrams with MS Word. We used to learn from each other various ways to create graphic images with MS Word. My friend creates graphic images from a Mathematics teachers perspective whereas I create graphics from an art teachers perspective. This project will focus on how to draw a cube which can be used as diagram for Mathematics lesson or exam question paper. Mathematics teachers can also create a sheet of graph paper with MS Word and use this digital graph paper to create notes for Mathematics lessons. I believe that if we love doing something, we dont feel the hardship even though it is a complicated task. Try drawing this cube using only the Freeform tool and fine-tune the lines with Edit Points. This project is something like drawing a model house.

HOW TO DRAW A SOCCER FIELD DIAGRAM IN MS WORD PART 1
MICROSOFT WORD DRAWING PROJECT No. 21 PART 1
TITLE: HOW TO DRAW SOCCER FIELD DIAGRAM IN MS WORD
TYPE: COLOURED ILLUSTRATION / DIAGRAM
There are many methods to draw a soccer field diagram and drawing it in MS Word is just one of them. Football coaches and Physical Education teachers can use this diagram to teach game tactics and strategies. It will be even more interesting if this is done in PowerPoint. A presentation with visual effects such as labels and notes appearing from various styles and directions enlivens the briefing session or lesson. Three shapes were used to create this diagram. They are Rectangle, Oval and Arc. I hope that this drawing meets the standard soccer field specifications. If it doesnt, I wish to apologize.

And eventually youve read about similar benefits from sodium bicarbonate supplementation and an increase in pH at the SuppVersity before - not just in terms of skeletal muscle, but also in terms of growth hormone in general (Did you know: Your growth hormone release is blunted even with a mild reduction in your bodys pH | read more)

Is the vitamin D you produce at the beach youre visiting only rarely the secret to perfect glucose control? Learn more in the "Beyond Carbohydrate Series" |
And the results of this study dont even seem completely nonsensical. As a SuppVersity reader you do after all know about the existing evidence of the negative effects low vitamin D levels will have on the function and strength of skeletal muscle ("low" in this context means less than 30ng 25-OHD on the lab report). Against that background, it does after all appear to be logical that refilling the levels would in one way or another help maintain or even build skeletal muscle.
The actual news here is yet not that vitamin D could potentially prevent muscle atrophy and increase hypertrophy. Its rather that these effects could be brought about by the significant increases in total IGF-1, as well as the IGF-1 binding proteins 1 + 3 researchers from the College of Rochester observed, when they added 4,000 IU of vitamin D to the diets of 6 vitamin D insufficient and deficient men (39.0±8.6yo with 25OH D 20.0±7.7ng/mL) who participated in a one-hour exercise program consisting of stretching (ST), aerobic (AB), and resistive (RT) exercises (Darr. 2014)

Suggested Read: "Underestimated Vitamin D Sources: Especially Eggs, But Also Chicken, Pork, Fish & Dairy Contain an Overlooked, Physiologically Relevant Amount of Ready-Made 25OHD" | more |
Whether the scientists assumption that the increases in BP3 and BP1 levels and the maintenance of the total IGF-1 levels "potentially alter [...] the IGF system for enhanced muscle health" is accurate, let alone practically relevant is something this study cannot actually confirm.
And lets be honest, is it even likely? For someone without a pre-existing vitamin D deficiency? No. For someone with similarly low vitamin D levels as the deficient and insufficient subjects in a 2011 study by Stockton et al. (2011)? Probably, yes - but are you actually D-ficient?
Learn more about the previous "Tomatorade(R)" research. |
Youve heard and read about the use of tomato juice as an anabolic intra-workout beverage in January 2013 (go back), youve learned about the anti-obesity and anti-cancer effects of (green) tomatoes in 2012 and youve read only yesterday in the SuppVersity Facebook News that green tomatoes protect your muscle from age-induced atrophy (read more).
And if you asked me. Adding another cup of tomato-juice will probably be the most promising "tweak" most of you can make to your nutrition / supplement regimen, because lets be honest. You do already take more than enough vitamin D to keep your levels stable and when it comes to protein, ... well, lets put it this way. I know that most of you err on the side of caution, irrespective of the fact that anything beyond 1.6-2.0g protein per kg body weight is probably going to do more harm than good (learn why).
